Monica Harris leads Falcon Media. She has extensive and varied experience in multi-platform development and production in both broadcast network and cable television. Monica is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she served as an Editor of the Harvard Law Review, and received her B.A. from Princeton University. As Vice President of Business Affairs at Universal Television she exclusively handled all day-to-day production business and legal matters in connection with “LAW & ORDER” and Dick Wolf’s other franchise spin-offs, including “LAW & ORDER: SVU” and “LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT”. As Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at VH1 (a division of VIACOM MEDIA NETWORKS) she headed the channel’s West Coast office for 8 years, supervising all business and legal issues in connection with the production of scripted and unscripted programming, including hits such as “CELEBRITY REHAB”, “BASKETBALL WIVES” and "THE SURREAL LIFE", as well as negotiating talent and producing agreements with a range of A-list players such as J Lo, Chris Rock, Drew Barrymore and Jack Black.
Monica began her legal career as a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Morrison & Foerster. She made her foray into production legal affairs at ABC/WALT DISNEY TELEVISION where she served as Director of Legal Affairs on the Selma Blair series “ZOE BEAN” and the 2-hour pilot for David Lynch’s “MULHOLLAND DRIVE” (which was later released theatrically as a feature film), in addition to MOWs such as the Jerry Bruckheimer space thriller, “Max Q”.
Monica is a member of the State Bar of California and was named one of the “Top Twenty Lawyers Under the Age of 40” in 2002 by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
Monica is actively committed to a sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle and owns a 20-acre ranch in Northwestern Montana where she enjoys gardening and raising livestock with her partner, Lisa, and their son, Morgan.
